About Dr. T. Lynn Smith

A multifaceted leader, Dr. Smith currently serves on the National Board of Trustees for the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), Program Manager for the COGIC Solutions Development Team, and a member of the General Assembly’s Codification Committee. Locally, she serves as Chairperson of the Trustee Board at Hinsley Temple Church of God in Christ and as Jurisdictional Secretary for the North Central Georgia Jurisdiction. Dr. Smith was ordained in the Church Of God In Christ as an Elder in 1994 by the late Bishop William Haven Bonner. Dr. Smith has served in numerous ministry leadership roles, including Southeast Regional President of the COGIC Department of Music, Secretary of the National Board of Trustees, and Logistics Liaison for the General Council of Pastors and Elders. She is also a Registered Chaplain for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Smith’s educational background is both deep and diverse. She holds:

• An Appraiser Certificate from the Real Estate Information Management School
• B.A. from North Central College
• M.S. in Management from National-Louis University
• M.A. in Christian Ministry from the Interdenominational Theological Center
• Doctor of Sacred Music from Union Bible Theological Seminary
• Doctor of Business Administration from Northcentral University

She is also a LifeWorks Certified Coach (LWCC), having trained with the LifeWorks School of Coaching. In the marketplace, Dr. Smith leads as the Program Director of The Salvation Army Southern Territory’s Jack McDowell School for Leadership and Educational Development. She is also the CEO/President of Real Solutions of Georgia, Inc., and Executive Director of Expressmi Music—organizations where she brings visionary leadership to both business and ministry.

An accomplished author and musician, Dr. Smith wrote the widely respected instructional manual A Comprehensive Guide to Music Ministry and released the worship album Just Praise & Worship,featuring the moving anthem “Glory and Praise.” As a current member of the COGIC National Board of Trustees, she contributes to key decisions regarding denominational properties and future-facing initiatives.

Looking ahead, Dr. Smith will release her third book, Now He Sees: The Support That Changed Everything, along with an interactive DVD training series titled The Directors Class with Dr. T. Lynn Smith—both slated for 2026. Dr. Smith is passionate about mentoring leaders, writing music, encouraging young adults, and standing in the gap through intercessory prayer. Her rare ability to connect with both the churched and unchurched has expanded her influence across spiritual, academic, and corporate spaces. Above all, she believes this: trust begins with truth.
